I want to warmly welcome you into my world, where family, community and hard work are the cornerstones of my life. Here in Pitt County, I've planted deep roots as a proud mother of three beautiful girls who attend DH Conley High School and Wintergreen Intermediate Schools and as a devoted wife to my husband and best friend, Brian. Together, we've built our lives here, not just as residents, but as active contributors to the heart and soul of this incredible community for nearly twenty years.
Through our business that we've lovingly founded and nurtured, we've had the privilege of serving not only Pitt County but the entire Eastern NC region. Over the years, we've weathered the storms of two economic downturns and the challenges brought on by Covid-19. Through it all, we've emerged stronger, with a firm commitment to ministry within our business, effective operational management, and the well-being of our dedicated team of which I am so grateful.
My journey has been enriched by service on various boards over the past 17 years, but it also includes a significant chapter with one of the world's most trusted brands, the American Red Cross. There, I played a pivotal role in assisting those affected by Hurricane Florence after serving as our Eastern region's Director, overseeing missions for the world's largest humanitarian organization. My academic credentials include an undergraduate degree in Public Relations and a Masters in Public Policy (MPA).
Some of my proudest accomplishments have been working alongside past communities of which I have been blessed to be a part of reducing crime while collaborating with Parks & Recreation. These past experiences have allowed me to contribute to Pitt County's economic growth and have equipped me with a deep understanding of the challenges we currently face.
My "why" is simple: “It is you.” I am just like you. I live alongside you, send my children to school every day, work tirelessly to provide for my family, and aspire to secure their future through higher education. I share your needs and aspirations, from education, public safety, and our economic environment to recreational opportunities. To extend a bit further, my passion for human health, particularly in mental health assistance, drives my commitment to improving the well-being not just of our community as a whole, but as individuals and how we feel. I want to be the voice that represents you, advocating for impactful growth and a brighter tomorrow for all of us.
My faith is my guiding light, the bedrock of my values. I boldly believe that God should be present in everything we do, and I promise to apply my faithful wisdom to guide my choices as your County Commissioner. Together, let's work towards a more secure, safer, and fiscally sound future for Pitt County, hand in hand with my fellow commissioners and, most importantly, with you, the heartbeat of our community.
